Title: Computational clinical science: Toward developing rapid and cost-effective markers of transdiagnostic phenotypes

Abstract : Computational modeling and associated methods have greatly advanced our understanding of cognition and neurobiology underlying complex behaviors and psychiatric conditions. Yet, few computational methods have been successfully translated into clinical settings. In this talk, I will first briefly introduce a new field called computational psychiatry (or computational clinical science), which aims to provide computational accounts of abnormal cognition and its biological underpinnings. Next, I will present recent computational psychiatric studies, which characterize individual differences in decision-making strategies using fMRI, computational modeling, and machine learning approaches.
